International Jet Interiors Creates The Ultimate Business Tool: A G550 "Office in the Sky" Private Jet

A G550 "Office in the Sky" Private Jet Completion By International Jet Interiors

G550 Before
International Jet Interiors President, Eric H. Roth, was recently tasked by a new client with creating an "office in the sky" that would successfully duplicate his business office. A trader and workaholic, this Wall Street exec specifically wanted to be able to work seamlessly while en-route to his meetings and overseas destinations onboard his G550 private jet.
After an initial meeting at International Jet Interiors facility in Ronkonkoma, NY, the completion details were methodically planned out by the design and engineering team at IJI
The process of creating this one of a kind jet included becoming familiar with the way in which the principal liked to work and travel.

Ultimately, three factors became the focus on this Gulfstream jet:
  •  The need for the high speed connectivity and broadband
  •  The need for lounge space for family members
  •  A comfortable bedroom where this 6’3’ CEO could sleep on overnight flights.

To accomplish each of these requirements successfully, IJI proposed a floorplan modification that would allow for a luxurious 10’ divan across from a retractable 42” television monitor. When not in use, the credenza housing the monitor could be used for refreshments or other entertaining needs.

Similarly, the IJI team custom designed and engineered a desk on board with a custom lift mechanism was handcrafted for smooth operation, light weight and strength, and featured dual, pop up, 24” computer monitors. This marks IJI’s first completion that includes the installation of Honeywell’s KA Band- the latest in broadband connectivity. IJI perfectly duplicated the CEO’s office set up, and utilized body measurements to create the most comfortable seating environment.

Additionally, the new floorplan called for the crew rest area to be removed, to allow for a spacious forward entry area. As this owner did not fly with a third crew member, this option was viable and aesthetically pleasing.
Finally, consideration was given to creating the largest possible aft cabin to allow for comfortable sleeping quarters. The result? A grand entrance and unobstructed views.

Perfect for traveling solely with family, the luxuriously cozy materials selected, rich textures and well thought out use of space breaks the cookie cutter mold and makes a statement on every runway.
